ALPFA announced the appointment of Dr. Robert Rodriguez to the position of senior vice president at ALPFA Consulting. Rodriguez will be working to develop a new diversity consulting services division at the organization.
Dr. Rodriguez is a leading expert on corporate Latino management best practices who has worked with more than 70 corporations in helping structure diversity workforce programs. He joins ALPFA to add to the leadership development portfolio the organization has created during its almost 40-year history.
“We recognize the importance of helping corporations have the right structures to promote the development of a diverse workforce and better engage and retain them, while also creating more pathways to their executive levels.” said ALPFA CEO, Manny Espinoza. “Rodriguez will help lead our efforts in bringing that expertise to corporations and help them create the necessary programs to help more Latinos have access to leadership roles.”
Rodriguez has held corporate leadership roles at 3M, Target and BP Amoco and lecturer at DePaul University, Capella University and Kaplan University. Rodriguez has received numerous recognitions including being named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Latinos in America by Hispanic Business Magazine in October 2010. He has a doctorate in Organization Development from Benedictine University and is a graduate of the Latino Leadership Institute at UCLA. His book, Latino Talent: Effective Strategies to Recruit, Retain and Develop Hispanic Professionals (Wiley, 2008), is used by dozens of corporations as a framework to shape their Latino programs.
