Estrella TV’s late night talk show host Platanito debuts on TV Land’s Lopez Show

Estrella TV, the fastest growing, minority-owned, Spanish -anguage broadcasting network in the U.S. announced today that its late night talk show host Platanito will be a guest star on TV Land’s Lopez sitcom.

Considered one of Mexico’s leading comedians, Sergio Verduzco, also known as Platanito, will make a special appearance in George Lopez’s TV Land’s sitcom show “Lopez” on May 17, 2017 at 10:30P.

George Lopez, a world class actor-comedian and one of the most popular and beloved Hispanic celebrities in Hollywood, recently extended an invitation to Platanito to be part of his TV Land Lopez show, where Lopez’s character develops an unsuspecting feud with Platanito resulting in 30 minutes of non-stop laughter. In an episode where art imitates life, George Lopez is a guest on Noches Con Platanito where he is challenged by the Spanish language late night talk show host to take a stab at hosting his show in full clown garb, to which Lopez reluctantly accepts.

Noches Con Platanito is the longest running and only Spanish-language late night talk show format in the US, and this fall will be reaching its 500-episode milestone. George Lopez has been a guest twice, once in 2016 and again in the show’s most recent season on a show that will air on Estrella TV on March 16, 2017 at 9PM/8PM C. Other high profile Hollywood A-listers who have been guests on Noches Con Platanito include Tony Hawk, Black Eyed Peas, Steven Ogg, Danny Trejo, Rob Schneider, Jim Gaffigan, Wilmer Valderrama, John Ross Bowie, and Michael Cudlitz, to name a few.

“It’s such an honor for me to collaborate with the great George Lopez. We’ve developed a cool friendship and professionally, George has been very supportive of my show the times we’ve had him as a guest on Noches Con Platanito. Having the chance to participate in his show has been one of those great magical moments in my career,” concluded Verduzco.

Recently, Estrella TV released the show’s promo video spoofing Stephen King’s IT 2017 movie trailer to promote Noches Con Platanito’s 18th season.
