Entravision Communications Corporation yesterday announced that it has appointed Marta Salazar to the position of Political Outreach Director of Entravision.

Salazar will oversee political advertising sales for the company’s television and radio stations. She will identify, develop and manage all political revenue generated from political campaigns, candidates, and Super PACs. She will also be responsible for the revenue development and management of political and advocacy based relationships and opportunities in order to achieve the company’s strategic objectives. Salazar will report directly to Mario M. Carrera, Entravision’s Chief Revenue Officer.

Salazar was previously an account executive at FOX Television in Washington, DC, leading advertising efforts for its top local market television stations. Salazar was also responsible for Scripps’ Political Advocacy Media Sales on a national level during the 2011/2012 political election season. Her extensive experience includes more than 25 years of television industry experience managing and leading sales teams to achieve growth and profitability while delivering outstanding client services. A graduate of Florida International University, Miami, Florida, Salazar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.

“We are delighted to welcome Marta to Entravision and have her skills and experience to lead our political sales efforts,” said Mr. Carrera. “Her strong foundations in local market broadcast, in addition to her unique experience in political media, make her the ideal candidate to be our Political Outreach Director. Marta joins us during a presidential election cycle as the U.S. Latino vote continues to increase in influence in our key battleground markets: D.C., Nevada, Colorado and Florida. We are well positioned and look forward to Marta’s leadership in this important and growing part of our business.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the Entravision organization,” says Salazar. “I am both honored and excited to be at Entravision and look forward to working with the team to help further expand the U.S. Latino voice in this exciting and dynamic political climate. I feel fortunate to be joining such a respected company, committed to both the U.S. Latino community and to top quality media platforms.”

Salazar’s appointment reinforces Entravision’s commitment to the political process and serves to connect political advertisers with key U.S. Latino voters within Entravision’s audience. Her appointment comes on the heels of the company’s recently launched Tu Decides campaign, a comprehensive civic engagement effort designed to encourage and empower U.S. Latinos to apply for citizenship, register to vote, and/or to actively vote in the upcoming 2016 elections.
