District of Columbia Census Data

Data for the District of Columbia show that the eight wards and their 2010 Census counts are Ward 1, 76,197; Ward 2, 79,915; Ward 3, 77,152; Ward 4, 75,773; Ward 5, 74,308; Ward 6, 76,598; Ward 7, 71,068; and Ward 8, 70,712. Ward 1 grew by 3.9 percent since the 2000 Census. Ward 2 grew by 16.0 percent, Ward 3 grew by 4.7 percent, Ward 4 grew by 0.8 percent, Ward 5 grew by 4.0 percent, Ward 6 grew by 12.6 percent, Ward 7 grew by 0.8 percent, and Ward 8 decreased by 0.3 percent.

The redistricting file consists of five detailed tables: the first shows the population by race, including six single race groups and 57 multiple race groups (63 total race categories); the second shows the Hispanic or Latino population as well as the non-Hispanic or Latino population cross-tabulated by the 63 race categories. These tabulations are repeated in the third and fourth tables for the population 18 years and over and are for the resident population of the United States.
