The Flu Ends With You – The CDC Gets Social, Targets Hispanics
It’s that time of year… Flu Season.
As part of it’s new “The Flu Ends with You” campaign, the CDC is getting social by asking Facebook users to submit PSA videos and posters urging people to stay healthy by getting their flu vaccine. The best entries will be posted on Flu.gov and receive a cash award (video $2500/poster $2000). Hashtags were created so users could follow the event on Twitter: #FluEndsWithU and/or #YoMeVacuno.
Some of the Hispanic components of the campaign include:
- A taped a vignette with Dra. Aliza
- Hispanic organization and blogger outreach campaigns
- Purchased ads in Univision radio, television and online
- Conducted 8 media roundtables across the US to reach ethnic media with the flu message
